Allianz Malaysia, Ashoka float programme for sustainable social impact

It featured four social enterprises that were trained by the insurer's employees.

Allianz Malaysia and civil organisation Ashoka have rolled out a capacity-building programme to help four social organisations achieve sustainable social and economic impact, a statement read.

Through its corporate responsibility arm Allianz4Good, the insurer featured Persatuan Mobiliti Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Gem & Bread Special Needs Support Group Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, Deliccia, and Havan Clothing.

The initial phase of the programme saw the participating social enterprise and NGOs attend three workshops focusing on system change, leadership strategy, and fundraising strategy.

Allianz Malaysia employees spent eight more months mentoring and engaging the organisation that was matched to their talent and skills acquired through their roles within the company.

The programme then culminated with an e-summit in July where the social organisations and mentors showcased their journey and the innovative solutions that they developed to create systemic change within the communities that they support.
