Thai Sethakit Insurance Public Company Limited (TSI) was established on January 31, 1942 by the idea of Field Marshal P. Phibunsongkhram, the Prime Minister at that time, who saw the importance of having an insurance company owned by Thais. Therefore, the company was established to operate life and non-life insurance businesses, with Phraya Manawaratsevi (Plod Wichian Na Songkhla) holding the position of the first Chairman.
Thai Setthakit Insurance Public Company Limited or "TSI Insurance" operates insurance business for all types of non-life insurance, motor insurance, fire insurance, miscellaneous insurance, marine cargo insurance, with services through branch agents and quality service centers spread throughout the country.
