He will also assume the role of head of client markets property and casualty.

Swiss Re has appointed Balasubramanian Nagarajan as head of Swiss Re Asia’s Malaysia branch, taking over from Marcel Omar Papp.

Nagarajan will also assume the role of head of the client markets property and casualty (P&C) (conventional), effective 1 September.

In his new role, he is expected to strengthen and diversify Swiss Re’s insurance relationships for the P&C business across the region.

Nagarajan has a 25-year experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector. Most recently he served as head P&C Business Management SID, where he oversaw claims processing in property and engineering, liability and non-life accident claims.

Swiss Re Asia thanked incumbent Malaysia head Papp, who had held the role since 2018. Papp will continue in his role as head of Swiss Re Retakaful.
