Thailand has lowered the medical insurance requirement for tourists from $20k to $10k, as part of an easing of restrictions to boost tourism in the country.
Under the new rules, all visitors are required to register through the country’s ‘Thailand Pass’ system. They must also provide proof of health insurance coverage of at least $10k for COVID-19 treatment.
Additionally, the Thai government is scrapping the mandatory COVID-19 RT-PCR tests, replacing them with voluntary self-administered antigen tests.
The new rules will be in place starting 1 May.
