Coface appoints new APAC chief

He first joined the firm in 2016.

Global trade credit insurer Coface has appointed Hugh Burke as its CEO for its Asia Pacific operations.

Burke will be taking over from Bhupesh Gupta. He will join the group executive committee and report to Coface CEO Xavier Durand.

Burke first joined Coface as Chief Commercial Officer for the Asia-Pacific region in 2016. Based in Hong Kong, he led the region’s commercial transformation, with record year-on-year growth since 2018. He has over 20 years of experience within the trade credit insurance industry, where he has held senior positions at major specialist brokers.

 Prior to joining Coface, Burke was Head of Aon Asia’s trade credit business.
