Prudential unveils new chief economist

They hold over 30 years of industry experience.

Prudential appointed Ray Farris as Chief Economist for its asset management arm, Eastspring Investments. 

In this newly created role, Farris will provide economic analysis and insights for both Prudential and Eastspring, shaping macroeconomic perspectives in the context of shifting global economic and geopolitical dynamics.  

Based in Singapore, Farris will report to Eastspring Investments’ Chief Investment Officer, Vis Nayar. 

His responsibilities include delivering macroeconomic research and data to support investment and asset allocation strategies.  

Farris brings over three decades of experience in economics and financial strategy. 

He spent 22 years at Credit Suisse, serving in various leadership roles including Global Chief Economist, Chief Investment Officer for the Americas, and head of Asia Economics and Fixed Income Strategy. 

His career began in 1991 at Crosby Securities in Hong Kong, where he was Head of Economics and Equity Strategy.  

Farris holds a Master of Science in Finance from London Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of North Carolina.
