MSIG Asia partners with RiskPoint for renewable energy insurance

The region is expected to invest over $3t in power generation.

MSIG Asia and The RiskPoint Group (RiskPoint) are collaborating to offer tailored insurance solutions for project owners and their brokers during the construction and operational phases of renewable energy projects across the Asia-Pacific.

“With approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for RiskPoint's appointment as MSIG Singapore’s MGA, the partnership will leverage Singapore’s position as a regional insurance hub to provide coverage for renewable energy projects across the broader Asia Pacific region,” a media release said.

The region is expected to invest over $3t in power generation over the next decade, with nearly half of the investment allocated to wind and solar projects and 12% to energy storage.

The insurer and RiskPoint’s relationship dates back to 2008.
