Markel’s FY 2024 net income leaps to $2.8b

EPS stood at $199.32.

Markel Group’s consolidated net income for fiscal year 2024 (FY 2024) jumped 35.5% year-on-year (YoY) to $2.8b.

Likewise, total operating revenues increased by 5.2% YoY to $16.6b. The group’s total expenses for FY 2024 marginally increased (0.3% YoY) to $12.9b.

For the period, basic earnings per share (EPS) was at $199.32, 35.6% higher YoY.

"In 2024, we exceeded our target with strong returns from our public equity portfolio, continued growth in Ventures, and notable performance in many areas of our insurance business, all whilst staying true to our values and striving for excellence," Tom Gayner, Chief Executive Officer of Markel Group, said in a press release.
