Markel appoints new marine hull and war lead in Singapore

He joins the company after nearly two decades with MS First Capital Insurance.

Markel, the insurance division of Markel Group Inc., appointed Galvin Hu as Marine Hull and War lead in Singapore.  

Hu will oversee Markel’s Marine Hull and War underwriting strategy in Singapore, collaborating with the broader APAC underwriting team. 

He joins Markel after 19 years at MS First Capital Insurance Limited, where he most recently served as Marine manager – head of Marine Hull Underwriting.  

He will report to Wanshi Lin, head of Singapore.
