Aon acquires Mitsubishi Chemical's insurance agency business

The deal adds 100 new employees to Aon in Japan.

Aon plc has completed the acquisition of the in-house insurance agency business of Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG) as of 1 March. 

The acquired business previously operated as part of Dia Rix, the in-house business services provider for MCG group companies. 

“Aon will provide corporate and personal lines insurance to MCG group companies and employees in Japan,” a press release said.

The deal adds 100 new employees to Aon in Japan, bringing the total workforce in the country to over 400. 

“This is a significant initiative in the industry, following the changes in the Japanese non-life insurance market which many Japanese companies are likely following closely,” Tatsuya Yamamoto, head of Aon Japan, said in the press release.
