Canopius appoints Chen Zhang and Channing Chiu to APAC roles

Both will report to Soon Keen (SK) Lee, CEO of Canopius APAC and MENA.

Canopius has made two senior appointments in its Asia-Pacific team.

Chen Zhang has been named head of Claims, APAC, effective 5 May, whilst Channing Chiu has taken on the newly created role of Regional Strategy and Transformation Lead, effective 19 May. 

Both will report to Soon Keen (SK) Lee, CEO of Canopius APAC and MENA.

Chen joins from Factual Mutual Insurance Company, where he was branch manager in Hong Kong. 

 

He has over 15 years of experience in claims adjusting, engineering risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement. 

At Canopius, he will be responsible for shaping the APAC claims strategy and supporting operational improvements across the region.

Channing brings 15 years of experience in pricing, claims, marketing, distribution, product development, and operations. 

 

She most recently led the SME segment at AIG Singapore and was Underwriting and Portfolio manager across Southeast Asia and Greater China. 

In her new role, she will work with the regional executive team to drive Canopius’ strategic and transformation initiatives in APAC.
