Income Insurance launches grant with NCSS to aid caregivers

The insurer will fund up to 20 SSA-run programmes over two grant calls from 2025-2030.

Income Insurance and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) have partnered to launch the Income OrangeAid Caregiver Support Accelerator Grant, aimed at strengthening caregiver support in Singapore through Social Service Agencies (SSAs).

The initiative addresses gaps identified in NCSS' 2024 Quality of Life Study, which found that caregivers reported lower quality of life compared to non-caregivers, particularly in physical, social, and environmental well-being. 

With projections suggesting that one in two healthy Singaporeans could require long-term care by age 65, the programme seeks to enhance support for caregivers as demand grows.

Under the grant, Income Insurance will fund up to 20 SSA-run programmes over two grant calls between 2025 and 2030.

Each programme may receive up to US$156,306.78 (S$200,000) per year for the first two years and US$78,153 (S$100,000) in the third year. 

The first call will open in September 2025, with grants awarded by January 2026. The second call is set for 2027. 

Selected SSAs will also receive support through workshops and a pitch process, and they must demonstrate a sustainability plan to ensure programmes continue after the grant period.

The grant is part of Income Insurance’s commitment to invest US$78.2m (S$100m) in Singapore communities by 2030 through its OrangeAid platform.
