Swiss Re appoints Abrokwah to lead L&H Japan

He joins from Swiss Re’s US L&H business.

Swiss Re has named Stephen Abrokwah as the new Head of Life & Health (L&H) Japan, effective 1 October.

He will begin transitioning into the role in September and relocate to Tokyo once regulatory and visa processes are completed.

Abrokwah joins from Swiss Re’s US L&H business, where he was a key account manager for US clients and global asset-intensive partners.

Since joining Swiss Re in 2013 as a marketing actuary, he has led initiatives that improved portfolio margins, secured major in-force transactions, and deepened client partnerships.

He brings nearly 20 years of financial services experience and holds credentials including Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), and a doctorate in applied economics.

He also serves as President and board chair of the International Association of Black Actuaries.

Kenichi Kasai has also been appointed Head of L&H Client Markets Japan, focusing on client engagement.
