BRI Life tops Indonesia life insurance market by APE in H1 2025
The insurer recorded an APE of $122.0m.
PT Asuransi BRI Life (BRI Life) topped Indonesia’s life insurance industry in the first half of 2025 by annualised premium equivalent (APE), according to data from the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI) as reported by the Jakarta Post.
The insurer recorded an APE of $122.0m (Rp2.0t), up 29.3% year-on-year (YoY).
The strong performance was largely driven by bancassurance, which contributed $79.3m (Rp1.3t) or 63.2% of total APE.
The corporate business segment posted significant growth, rising 216.6% YoY to $31.5m (Rp516.8b), fueled by a 402.4% surge in health insurance products.
BRI Life also reported a net profit of $25.6m (Rp419.2b) for the period, a 32% YoY increase.
Its risk-based capital ratio stood at 579.6%, well above the minimum set by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority.
