AIA Group names Ben Ng as group chief risk officer designate
Ng will be based in Hong Kong.
AIA Group has appointed Ben Ng as Group Chief Risk Officer Designate and member of the Group Executive Committee, effective 1 October.
He will take over the role of Group Chief Risk Officer on 1 January 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Ng will be based in Hong Kong and report to Group Chief Executive and President Lee Yuan Siong.
Ng joined AIA in 2011 and has held senior roles in Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan (China). He has served as Chief Executive Officer of AIA Malaysia, AIA Indonesia and Group Corporate Solutions.
He was also elected President of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia, where he worked on industry initiatives covering regulation, risk management and sustainability.
Ng is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society.
He will succeed Jayne Plunkett, who has been AIA’s Group Chief Risk Officer since 2019 and will retire from the role on 1 January 2026.
Plunkett led the group’s risk management function through major regulatory changes and expanded its role within the business and at board level.
