Canopius bolsters APAC operations with new leadership hires

Both will be based in Sydney.

Canopius appointed Michelle Rudd as Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific and Vanessa Hall as Casualty Underwriter, strengthening its operational and underwriting teams in the region. 

Both will be based in Sydney.

Rudd joins from Arch Underwriting at Lloyd’s (Australia), where she served as Director and Operations Manager, leading the establishment of the company’s branch operations and the development of its service delivery and business systems.

At Canopius, she will oversee operational strategy and performance across APAC, reporting to Soon Keen (SK) Lee, CEO for Asia Pacific & MENA, and Kate Roy, Group COO, in London. 

She will also join the APAC Executive Committee and work closely with Andrew Ziolkowski, head of Australia and New Zealand.

Hall brings over 20 years of insurance experience, most recently as Underwriting and Product Manager at ARAG Services Australia. 

She will report to Brodie English, head of Casualty for Australia and New Zealand.

Canopius said the appointments reflect its commitment to expanding its presence and capabilities across the Asia Pacific region.
