Manulife and Mahindra name Agarwal CEO for India life JV

He exits Mahindra Insurance Brokers on 30 April.

Manulife and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) have appointed Suresh Agarwal as the Managing Director and CEO designate of their proposed 50:50 life insurance joint venture.

This leadership announcement follows the November 2025 agreement between the two companies to establish a life insurance presence in India.

Agarwal brings nearly 30 years of experience across the life insurance, general insurance, and lending sectors.

He previously played a key role in expanding Kotak’s life insurance business and later led Kotak General Insurance through its transition into a joint venture with Zurich Insurance.

Since September 2025, he has served as the MD and CEO of Mahindra Insurance Brokers Limited.

Agarwal is scheduled to step down from his current role at Mahindra Insurance Brokers on 30 April.

He will officially assume his new position at the joint venture on 1 May, pending the necessary regulatory clearances.
