Women take 53% majority as Allianz Life recruitment flips the gender script
Female agency recruits surpass men at Allianz Life Malaysia amidst shift to flexible careers.
Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Life) reported that women made up 53% of new agency recruits in 2025, the highest female representation recorded and the first year female participation exceeded male participation.
According to the company’s press statement, female recruitment remained steady at 47% between 2020 and 2023 and reached parity in 2024.
The 2025 figures reflect changes in workforce preferences for flexible and performance-based career pathways.
Raymond Cheah, Chief Sales Officer at Allianz Life, said the trend reflects structural workforce changes rather than short-term fluctuations.
In 2024, women made up 80% of the company’s top 10 performing agents, highlighting the role of formal development programmes.
In January 2025, Allianz Life launched the SheSecures recruitment programme, part of the Kingmaker agency development framework.
The programme provides structured onboarding, capability-building, leadership development, peer support, and retention initiatives.
Participants have reported benefits from the programme with Canon Lim of MB8 Agency saying it helped her regain confidence and connect with a supportive network whilst Grace Lim from ACP Agency said the programme helped her pursue her own career goals.
Allianz Life said it will continue to expand its agency development platforms, strengthen leadership pipelines, and enhance structured progression frameworks across Malaysia.
