Allianz Malaysia boosts motor personal accident coverage

Motorcycle drivers who purchase or renew their policy in 2026 will get up to MYR25,000 coverage.

Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad has enhanced its motor personal accident coverage for motorcyclists and car drivers.

From 3 March to 31 December 2026, customers who purchase or renew their Allianz Motorcycle Plus (Comprehensive or Third Party) policy will enjoy a complimentary increase in road accident coverage to about $6,300 (MYR25,000), at no extra cost. The standard coverage is at $2,500 (MYR10,000).

Policyholders will be entitled to the insured sum for death or permanent disability caused by road accidents. The insured motorcycle should have an engine capacity of up to a maximum of 250cc or 12,000 watts.

Car drivers, meanwhile, are offered Drive Guard coverage for just $1.28 (MYR 5) a year until 31 December 2026.

Drive Guard offers a coverage of up to $12,700 (MYR50,000) for death or permanent disability due to a road accident, as well as hospital income of around $12.70 (MYR50) per day for up to 60 days.

Medical expenses are also covered up to MYR2,000, in addition to a bereavement allowance of MYR2,500, Allianz General said.
