Coface appoints James Yau to lead Southeast Asia push

Yau will be based in Singapore and will start the role from 5 June 2026.

Coface has appointed James Yau as head of Commercial for Southeast Asia and head of Mid-Market for the Asia-Pacific region, effective 5 June 2026.

Based in Singapore, Yau will lead efforts to grow Coface’s mid-market portfolio across APAC and work with country teams to support the company’s growth strategy in Southeast Asia.

He will report to Peter Solomon, Chief Commercial Officer for Coface APAC, with a dotted reporting line to Bernard Nassiri, Group Director of Commercial Operations, Lead Generation and Mid-Market.

Yau brings nearly 20 years of experience in trade credit insurance across the APAC region. He returns to Coface from AIG, where he most recently served as Head of Trade Credit for APAC, overseeing regional strategy and portfolio performance.

According to Coface, Yau’s experience in the trade credit insurance market, established broker network and knowledge of the company will support its growth plans across the region.
