Allianz Commercial reveals new regional leader

His role is effective 1 September but subject to regulatory approval.

Allianz has named Christian Sandric as Commercial Managing Director Asia, effective 1 September, pending regulatory approval. 

Sandric, joining from AIG, will lead the regional growth efforts for Allianz Commercial in Asia, while Mark Mitchell, the current Regional Managing Director for Asia at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS), will continue in his role until Christian Sandric assumes his position and will subsequently explore opportunities outside of Allianz Group.

Presently serving as the President & CEO of AIG Singapore and Regional Manager for Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, Sandric is responsible for overseeing AIG's General Insurance business in those territories.

With a career spanning 24 years at AIG, he has held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility across the United States, Australia, Europe, and Asia. 

Prior to his current role in Singapore, he spent nine years at AIG Japan and held other key positions in Hong Kong and Shanghai. 

Sandric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Conservation and International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire.
