Allianz, GIFT, doctorShare boost remote healthcare in Indonesia

The initiative provided floating hospitals to remote islands in the country.

Allianz Aia Pacific, Global Institute for Tomorrow (GIFT), and doctorShare plan to provide tailored strategies to strengthen access to medical services for underserved communities on remote islands.

In response to Indonesia’s healthcare challenges, Yayasan Dokter Peduli launched the Rumah Sakit Kapal program, operating two floating hospitals on remote islands to provide medical assistance.

Meanwhile, Allianz Asia Pacific partnered with GIFT to launch "Improving Medical Services for The Communities in Indonesia" under the Ascent 2030 program. This initiative aims to enhance access to medical services on remote islands through tailored strategies.

As part of this initiative, a site visit was conducted to RS Kapal Nusa Waluya II on Misool Island, with recommendations made to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality.

A public forum was organised, and attended by the Minister of Health and other stakeholders, where Ascent 2030 participants presented their plans.

Tutuk Utomo, Managing Director of doctorSHARE, lauded the initiative for its positive impact on refining organisational strategies and operations. Alexander Grenz, Country Manager of Allianz Life Indonesia, emphasised the commitment to purposeful leadership and community support, highlighting the collaboration's role in strengthening sustainability efforts.
