Aon to support Asia’s low-carbon investments with AIGCC

Aon aims to develop market-based climate solutions.

Aon announced its membership in the Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) as a member with risk capital capabilities.

AIGCC, a non-profit initiative, aims to raise awareness and inspire action amongst Asia’s asset owners and managers on climate change risks and low-carbon investment opportunities.

It serves as the premier network of institutional investors in Asia focused on addressing climate risks and advancing net-zero goals.

Through AIGCC, Aon aims to develop market-based climate solutions that build resilience against climate risks whilst supporting sustainable growth opportunities.

Leveraging innovation in data, analytics, and risk transfer solutions, Aon seeks to aid clients in boosting climate resiliency and accelerating the shift to a net-zero economy.

Aon’s 2024 Climate and Catastrophe Insight report notes that Asia’s insurance gap is amongst the largest globally, with only 14% of economic losses insured in 2023, highlighting the volatility of investing in high climate-risk regions.
