CALI will issue its initial industry position by 30 September 2026.
Australia’s life insurance industry has welcomed the final report of an independent review into its Life Insurance Code of Practice (Life Code), which contains 85 recommendations aimed at strengthening customer protections.
The review, led by consumer and financial services expert Peter Kell, examined ways to improve customer experience, maintain industry trust, and ensure life insurance remains affordable and accessible.
Christine Cupitt, Chief Executive Officer of the Council of Australian Life Insurers (CALI), thankedKell for leading the process and noted that the industry is now carefully considering the findings.
CALI announced it will publicly release an initial industry response to the 85 recommendations by 30 September 2026.
