bolttech and Harmony Auto launch EV insurance for BYD in Indonesia

It supports Indonesia’s goal of putting 2 million electric cars on the road by 2030.

bolttech has partnered with Chinese automotive distributor Harmony Auto to roll out a suite of insurance plans tailored for BYD electric vehicle owners in Indonesia.

The launch expands the firms’ collaboration beyond Singapore and Hong Kong and supports Indonesia’s goal of putting 2 million electric cars and 13 million electric two-wheelers on the road by 2030.

Available through all BYD Harmony Auto showrooms in Indonesia, customers can choose between comprehensive or total-loss-only coverage for vehicles valued up to $91,206.59 (IDR1.5b).

The plans include EV-specific benefits such as 24/7 roadside assistance, battery and charger protection, taxi reimbursement, and coverage for wheels and tyres.

Personal accident protection of up to $3,040.26 (IDR50m) per person, third-party liability, and natural disaster coverage are also included, depending on the plan.

bolttech Indonesia GM Andrew Cons said the partnership supports Indonesia’s green mobility transition, whilst Harmony Auto’s Pak Suwandy said it enhances customer convenience and peace of mind.
