Cambodia insurance premiums hold steady at $28m in May 2025
Life insurance premiums grew, whilst general insurance contracted.
Cambodia’s gross premiums remain unchanged, inching 0.61% up year-on-year (YoY) in May to $28.0, data from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia showed.
Life insurance increased by 4.26% YoY to $17.2m, whilst the number of policies more than doubled % to 151,656.
Endowment had the largest share in May, with 74% of the total. This was followed by term life (18%), health rider (4%), and other rider (4%).
Meanwhile, the general insurance market contracted by 4.66% YoY to $10.9m. Its number of policies, however, more than tripled to 67,342 in May.
During the month, property insurance accounted for 34.1% of the total general insurance market. This was followed by vehicle (19.3%), health (15.1%), transportation (8.7%), others (7.9%), engineering (7.5%), and personal accident (7.3%).
Total sum insured increased by 39.38% YoY to $9.7b. Meanwhile, gross claim incurred climbed 5.03% to $6.5m.
