Cambodia insurance premiums rise 7% in October 2025 as policies surge

Total policies rose to 498,557, a 161% increase.

Cambodia’s insurance market increased 7% year-on-year (YoY) to $26.8m in October 2025, data from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia showed.

This was mainly driven by a higher YoY gross premium growth in the life insurance sector, jumping 13% YoY to $17.9m during the month.

The general insurance market’s gross premium during the month, on the other hand, dipped 3% YoY to $8.9m.

Meanwhile, the number of policies surged sharply. Total policies rose to 498,557, a 161% leap from 190,915 the year before.

General insurance policies grew by 149% to 75,351 whilst life insurance policies jumped 1639% to 423,206.

The total sum insured increased by 42% YoY to $7.2b. Gross claims, meanwhile, contracted 11% YoY to $3.7m.
