Canara HSBC Life elevates Soly Thomas to Deputy CEO and CDO
The 16-year veteran will lead bancassurance at the industry’s ninth-ranked premium provider.
Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company Limited has re‑designated Soly Thomas as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Distribution Officer – Bancassurance, effective 10 February 2026, according to the company’s disclosure under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s listing rules.
Thomas has been associated with the company since 2008 and has led the bancassurance distribution strategy across partners including Canara Bank, regional rural banks and HSBC.
In his new role, he will continue to lead the bancassurance business and report to the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer.
The re‑designation follows approval by the company’s board of directors, with no other changes to the organisational structure noted in the filing.
Canara HSBC Life Insurance distributes life insurance products through its bancassurance network.
The company ranked ninth in Individual Weighted Premium Income for the nine months ended 31 December 2025, with an overall industry market share of 2.1% and 2.9% among private insurers, according to market reporting.
