Canopius Group appoints Ray Wong as APAC energy underwriter

Wong will be based in Singapore and report to Johnny Kim.

Canopius Group has appointed Ray Wong as energy underwriter for its Asia-Pacific operations, effective 4 September.

Wong will be based in Singapore and report to Johnny Kim, head of energy and construction for the region. 

He brings 14 years of experience in underwriting complex energy risks across global markets.

He joins from Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Limited, where he worked on offshore and onshore upstream energy portfolios covering construction and operational risks. 

His previous role also involved strengthening broker relationships and supporting strategic planning in the energy portfolio.
