EV insurance registrations surge in China during December's final week

Electric vehicle (EV) insurance registrations in China increased during the last week of December as automakers pushed deliveries toward the end of the month.
Nio recorded 6,500 insurance registrations, up 20.37% from 5,400 the previous week, according to data shared by Li Auto.
Nio's sub-brand, Onvo, achieved 4,200 registrations, doubling from 2,100 the prior week.
Tesla led premium EV brands with 18,600 registrations, whilst BYD maintained its dominance in the market with 72,100 registrations during the same period.
Other key players also reported significant numbers. Xiaomi registered 6,700 vehicles, Li Auto 13,400, Xpeng 10,100, Zeekr 8,900, Leapmotor 9,200, and Aito 8,200.
