Fortitude Re inaugurates Tokyo Representative Office

It also announced the appointment of its Tokyo Chief Representative.

Fortitude Re has established its first Tokyo Representative Office and appointed Hajime Kawafuji as its chief representative.

The new chief representative will be partnered with Leonard Lin, the Head of Asia at Fortitude Re.

Kawafuji is  well-versed in the Japanese business community, possessing extensive expertise in investment and advisory roles spanning various industries, Fortitude Re said.

He came from the global investment firm Carlyle and was a senior member of the Japan buyout advisory team. He was also part of Nomura’s investment banking section for more than a decade.
