Fujitsu launches Japan-tailored SAP Fioneer insurance platform
It covers core operations including product, policy, and claims management.
Fujitsu has launched the Japan Edition of SAP Fioneer Cloud for Insurance, a cloud-based core insurance platform tailored to Japanese regulatory requirements and business practices.
The system was developed with SAP Fioneer and will be available in Japan at the end of November.
The platform is based on SAP Fioneer’s global Cloud for Insurance system but adds Fujitsu-developed functions, templates, and data-integration capabilities specific to the Japanese market. It covers core operations including product, policy, and claims management.
Fujitsu said the new edition is aimed at helping insurers modernise legacy systems, improve operations, and accelerate digital transformation.
The first release focuses on common industry functions and processes, with added features for automobile insurance, a major product line in Japan’s agency and online channels.
Fujitsu plans to expand support to additional product types in later phases.
The company said the system can help insurers reduce total cost of ownership by standardising functions that are not competitive differentiators, whilst allowing companies to shift resources to product development and customer experience.
Local support will be provided in Japan to help insurers adopt and maintain the platform.
