Future Generali expands health insurance offering amidst medical cost surge
Over 80% are uncertain about whether their current health insurance is sufficient.
Future Generali India Insurance has introduced a new health insurance plan, “Health Unlimited” amidst rising medical costs.
According to the insurer’s recent survey, conducted amongst 800 insured individuals aged 25 and above, over 80% expressed uncertainty about whether their current health insurance is sufficient.
India recorded a medical inflation rate of around 14% in 2021—higher than China (12%), Indonesia (10%), Vietnam (10%), and the Philippines (9%).
Anup Rau, managing director and CEO of Future Generali India Insurance, said the rising cost of medical treatment continues to trouble many Indians, even those who already have insurance.
The plan offers unlimited restoration of the sum insured starting from the second claim. It includes coverage for in-patient hospitalisation, day-care procedures, AYUSH treatments (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy), pre- and post-hospitalisation, organ donor costs, and modern treatment methods.
