The outgoing finance chief will relocate back to the US after the transition.
FWD Group Holdings Limited has appointed several new senior executives to its leadership team, including a new Group Chief Financial Officer and a new CEO for its Thailand operations.
David Junius will join FWD Group as Deputy Group CFO before taking over as Managing Director and Group CFO on 1 July.
He succeeds Sid Sankaran, who is returning to the US.
Junius has nearly 30 years of experience, including previous CFO and COO roles at SiriusPoint, and senior positions at AIG across its Asia-Pacific and international general insurance divisions.
In Thailand, the company has appointed Khun Knattapisit Krutkrongchai (KK) as Chief Executive Officer, effective 11 May.
He replaces David Korunić, who is retiring on 30 June 2026 after a 35-year career in the industry.
Krutkrongchai joins from Krungthai-AXA, where he served as CEO, and previously held senior roles at AIA in Thailand and Hong Kong.
Additionally, Alex Wong has joined FWD Group today as Group Chief Actuary.
He moves from HSBC Life, where he managed actuarial operations across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Wong fills the vacancy left by Michael van Vuuren, who recently departed for another firm.
Both Sankaran and Korunić will remain with FWD Group as advisors. Sankaran will focus specifically on institutional investor relations and the group’s general account investment strategy.
