GAIP shifts from research to policy tools in 2025

It will also advance its Asia Risk Platform with rollout set for 2026.

The Global Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP) in 2025 focused on turning research into practical tools and policy dialogue, as it continued work on narrowing protection gaps across Asia.

In its 2025 Year in Review, GAIP said the year marked a shift from being primarily a research-focused organisation to building pathways that support decision-making by policymakers, regulators and industry stakeholders

During the year, GAIP convened 177 senior-level representatives from the public, private and development sectors through dialogues and knowledge-sharing sessions.

A total of 266 professionals took part in its executive education programmes, whilst 134 public-sector officials joined capacity-building sessions.

GAIP is also developing the Asia Risk Platform, a decision-support tool designed to integrate risk data into structured insights.

The platform will include a comprehensive risk database, a forward-looking risk assessment tool and a knowledge repository of policy and market-based solutions. Development will continue into 2026.

Leadership also changed during the year, with Min Hung Cheng assuming the role of chief executive officer in May 2025.

GAIP added Nan Shan Life Insurance as a new partner in 2025, and welcomed QBE Asia and the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia in early 2026.

Looking ahead, GAIP said it will continue to narrow its focus, strengthen translation of research into tools, and support structured pathways that can inform policy and market decisions across Asia.
