China's National Healthcare Security Administration (NHSA) has announced new measures aimed at simplifying the process for insured individuals to claim medical bill reimbursements.
According to NHSA official Fu Chaoqi, insured individuals will now have multiple payment options, including medical insurance cards, QR codes, and facial recognition, when settling bills at hospitals and pharmacies.
Additionally, they will have easier access to online submission and checking of information.

Furthermore, the NHSA plans to streamline procedures for including infants in national medical insurance schemes and reimbursing medical bills related to pregnancy and childbirth for mothers.
Special needs individuals will benefit from preferential policies regarding medical insurance premiums, without the need for application or upfront payment.
Fu highlighted that these changes will also reduce the time required for insured individuals to receive reimbursements.
