HL Assurance introduces faster flight delay payouts for travelers

The company is the first insurer in Singapore to offer this combination.

HL Assurance has introduced three new travel insurance add-ons, expanding its coverage to include pre-existing medical conditions, faster flight delay payouts, and protection for lost frequent flyer miles.

The company is the first insurer in Singapore to offer this combination of travel protections.

With Changi Airport recording 67.7 million passenger movements in 2024, travel has nearly returned to pre-pandemic levels.

However, disruptions remain a concern, with 37% of flights worldwide experiencing delays.

The new "Pre-existing medical conditions" add-on offers coverage for travellers with ongoing health issues.

The "Reduced flight delay payout time" add-on allows claims after just three hours of delay instead of six.

The "Loss of frequent flyer miles" add-on ensures travellers do not lose accumulated miles due to trip cancellations.
