Hong Kong Federation of Insurers leads climate charter amongst industry

33 companies have joined HKFI’s inaugural climate charter.

The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI) introduced the Insurance Industry Climate Charter (Climate Charter) at its launching ceremony and knowledge sharing forum on 29 February. 

This initiative, led by the HKFI, marks a significant milestone as the first Climate Charter spearheaded by an insurance association in Hong Kong.

Notably, 33 companies, representing approximately 80% of the market share, have joined as inaugural signatories for the Climate Charter.

The event, which coincided with the Hong Kong Green Week organised by the HKSAR Government, served as a platform for exchanging ideas on sustainability across the territory. 

Following the Launching Ceremony, two panel discussions were held, featuring experts from various sectors. These discussions focused on sustainable investment and risk management under extreme weather conditions, offering diverse perspectives on these critical topics.
