Howden Re reels in Candy Wong as head of treaty

Her appointment comes as Howden Re builds its Hong Kong platform.

Howden Re has appointed Candy Wong as head of Treaty for Hong Kong, effective today.

Wong, who has over 40 years of reinsurance experience, joins from Guy Carpenter where she was Managing Director after its merger with JLT Re.

She previously spent more than three decades at Aon Re China Ltd.

Her appointment comes as Howden Re builds its Hong Kong platform under Managing Director Roy Wong, adding senior brokers Brian Chan and Karen Liu.

She will lead the Hong Kong office and develop its treaty reinsurance business, part of the firm’s broader Asia Pacific expansion that includes recent moves in Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan.
