Igloo secures partnership with Thai telecom firm
Two new mobile insurance products will now be available in Thailand.
Insurtech Igloo has entered a partnership with the insurance arm of Thailand telecom firm Advanced Info Services (AIS), AIS Insurance service to offer two new mobile insurance products to AIS customers.
Under the agreement, AIS customers can now subscribe to Igloo’s Phone Screen Protection insurance plan and Mobile 360 insurance plan that start at THB107/year. AIS customers who subscribe to these new mobile insurance plans can also earn up to 150 AIS points from now until 30 June 2022.
The Mobile Phone 360 and Phone Screen Protection plans will be available on the AIS Insurance Services app that Igloo has specially developed for AIS’s customers, with plans for more offerings in the future.
Prices of these new mobile insurance plans start from as low as THB107 annually for the Phone Screen Protection plan and THB128 annually for the Mobile 360 plan. These mobile insurance plans can cover THB200 to THB44.9k on repairs for cracked phone screens for both new and used mobile phones. The latter also covers accidental damages from water, loss, and theft.
Customers who subscribe to these plans will also be able to view a list of mobile repair shops nearby that offer repair services for over 200 mobile brands and models, including Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo.
The partnership marks Igloo’s first foray into the telecommunications industry. Since its inception, Igloo has continued to expand its portfolio from digital wallets, e-commerce, logistics, automobiles, transportation, banking, travel, and hospitality as well as to the gig economy.
This was not the first time Igloo has partnered with a company in Thailand. It recently teamed up with foodpanda Thailand to introduce PandaCare, a protection program for its delivery riders.
