Four in 10 purchase coverage within zero to four days of departure.
Indonesians frequently secure travel insurance at the eleventh hour, with 40% purchasing coverage within zero to four days of departure and one in 10 waiting until the final 24 hours, according to an Igloo report.
Whilst less prevalent than international trips, a notable portion of domestic travelers also purchase travel insurance at the last minute, with 22% doing so zero to four days before departure and 8% within 24 hours.
Moreover, Indonesians are showing an affinity for international travel, as 80% of insurance purchases made by men were for international travel, and 90% were from women.
Solo travel is also becoming increasingly popular, especially amongst women who account for 57% of all solo travel insurance purchases, compared to 53% for men.
Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and South Korea remain the most popular destinations.
