Insurtech Igloo officially launches in Indonesia

Indonesians can now compare insurance products of different insurers.

Insurtech Igloo has officially launched its direct-to-customer platform in Indonesia.

On igloo.co.id, customers can access a variety of insurance products such as motorcycle, car, pet, and travel insurance from insurers such as Zurich, Sompo, SinarMas, and Oona, according to a press release.

Users can compare the coverage of each product to learn what is covered and not covered. They can also track, manage, and retrieve important details about policies they’ve purchased.

Amongst features in the platform include Fast Quotes, Buy-Now-Upload Later for easy documentation submission, and a claims support to assist through the claims process.

Support is also available through WhatsApp, telesales, and digital-only channels, Igloo said.

Igloo first soft-launched its igloo.co.id platform in May 2023, attracting nearly 20,000 visitors each month despite “minimal marketing”, said Raunak Mehta, CEO of Igloo.

“Throughout the soft launch period, we discovered that customers valued straightforward purchase processes and reliable customer service and we’ve incorporated these insights to create a platform we are proud of,” Mehta said, commenting on the official launch.

Insurance penetration in Indonesia stood at only 2.7%, according to data from the local Financial Services Authority (FSA).
