Japan eyes revamp of workers insurance scheme

This follows a round of pension system reform-related bills in May 2022. The government hopes that by October 2024, the public pension programme will be expanded to employees of all businesses with 51 or more personnel. The current requirement stands around 501 or more.
The report revealed that the focus of the discussions will be whether the employee pension coverage can be broadened to all companies regardless of the number of workers.
