Malaysian general insurance association welcomes new CEO

He will succeed Julie Lean Gim Chong.

Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) or the General Insurance Association of Malaysia appointed Chua Kim Soon as its new chief executive officer, effective 7 October. 

He will succeed Julie Lean Gim Chong, who concluded her term on 4 October. 

Kim Soon brings over 40 years of experience in the insurance sector, with expertise in managing business units and operations in Singapore, India, and Malaysia. 

His career highlights include leadership in greenfield ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning across the Life and General Insurance sectors. 

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK) and has attended programs at institutions like Insead, the National University of Singapore, and Wharton.
