Markel announces new head of marine liabilities for Singapore

She previously worked at Munich Re Specialty.

Markel, the insurance division of Markel Group Inc., has appointed Alicia Leong as head of Marine Liabilities in Singapore.  

Leong will oversee Singapore-based Marine & Energy liabilities underwriters and provide strategic direction for overseas teams. 

Her role includes strengthening business pipelines and broker and distribution engagements.

She will lead the Marine & Energy liabilities team in the Asia-Pacific region to support Markel’s expansion and market presence.  

Leong previously worked at Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets, Syndicate, where she spent nearly a decade as a marine liability underwriter. She will report to Wanshi Lin, Head of Singapore.
