Markel creates casualty role in Singapore, appoints Sim

Sim has over 20 years of experience in casualty underwriting.

Markel Insurance has appointed Collin Sim as Casualty Underwriter, establishing its first dedicated casualty underwriting role in Singapore.

Sim will lead the development of Markel’s casualty business in Southeast Asia and the wider Asian region. 

Her responsibilities include managing a portfolio of risks in line with Markel’s underwriting standards and strengthening broker and client relationships to support the firm’s regional expansion.

Sim has over 20 years of experience in casualty underwriting. She was most recently Assistant Vice President of General Casualty at Allied World, overseeing general casualty direct and facultative business in Southeast Asia. 

Prior to that, she spent 17 years at Gen Re, where she helped develop casualty facultative portfolios across Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, and China.
