Markel hires Ang to grow Asia terrorism cover
Ang joins from Everest, where he led political violence and terrorism for Asia.
Markel Insurance has appointed Henry Ang as head of Terrorism for Singapore.
Ang will oversee the growth and development of Markel's Political Violence and Terrorism (PVT) portfolio across Asia-Pacific. He will work alongside Rahul Shah, head of War and Terrorism for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Rahul Gaglani, War and Terrorism Underwriter for India.
Based in Singapore, Ang will report to Wanshi Lin, head of Singapore.
His appointment is intended to strengthen Markel's specialist capabilities in political violence and terrorism insurance as clients face increasing geopolitical uncertainty across the region.
Ang joins Markel from Everest, where he served as head of Political Violence and Terrorism for Asia.
He has more than 10 years of underwriting experience, specialising in terrorism and political violence risks across Asia-Pacific.
His experience also includes property underwriting and managing large portfolios for multinational clients and reinsurance companies.
