Markel Insurance names principal officer for Malaysia

Markel is currently licensed as a Tier 2 reinsurer in Labuan.

Markel Insurance, part of Markel Group Inc., has appointed Jasminder Kaur as principal officer, Malaysia, as the company steps up its expansion plans in the country.

In her new role, Kaur will oversee the growth of Markel’s operations in Malaysia, focusing on building underwriting capabilities in Kuala Lumpur and working closely with the underwriting team in Singapore. 

Markel is currently licensed as a Tier 2 reinsurer in Labuan.

Kaur brings nearly 30 years of experience in insurance, risk management, and broking. 

She was most recently CEO of MP Honan Insurance Brokers Sdn Bhd and previously held senior roles, including Chief Broking Officer, at Aon Insurance Brokers Sdn Bhd.

She will report to Kevin Leung, Chief Underwriting Officer, Asia-Pacific.
