
MetLife appoints new head for insurance assets
O’Brien will oversee investment strategies for MetLife’s $414.1b general account.
MetLife Investment Management (MIM), the institutional asset management arm of MetLife, Inc., has appointed Kerry O’Brien as global head of Insurance Asset Management and Liability Solutions.
O’Brien will oversee investment strategies for MetLife’s $414.1b general account and drive growth in MIM’s third-party insurance client business whilst supporting liability solutions across various client segments.
O’Brien joins MIM from Insight Investments, where she managed assets for life, property, casualty, and health insurers, as well as risk pools and captive insurers.
She previously held senior roles at AIG, including leading emerging market fixed-income teams and overseeing global portfolio management for public fixed-income markets.
