Miller launches marine insurance team in Korea with four hires
KyungSeop (KS) Shim joins from Marsh Korea as head of Specialty, Korea.
Miller has launched a new marine insurance team in Korea with four senior appointments, as part of its plan to grow its operations in the region.
KyungSeop (KS) Shim joins from Marsh Korea as head of Specialty, Korea, where he previously held leadership roles in both the marine and specialty divisions.
He also brings experience from running his own shipping business. At Miller, Shim will focus on developing the firm’s marine insurance capabilities in the Korean market.
He is joined by Justin Roh, Hana Jung, and Jayce Park, all formerly of Marsh Korea.
Roh brings over 15 years of experience in P&I claims and legal affairs from Hyundai Merchant Marine, as well as broking experience in marine and property lines.
Jung, who served as Vice President at Marsh Korea, handled direct P&I, FD&D, H&M and War Risks accounts, and has legal and client-side shipping experience.
Park has worked across marine retail broking and facultative reinsurance placements.
David Kim, head of Korea at Miller, said the appointments will help grow Miller’s marine proposition in Korea and build closer links with the firm’s established London market operations.
Phil Wheeler, head of Marine, added that the expansion strengthens Miller’s international marine platform and reinforces its commitment to specialist markets in the region.
